Morocco Trip 2023
This past year marked a milestone as I hosted my first Journey by Jacq Group Trip to Morocco, an experience that proved to be nothing short of life-changing! Leading a group of adventurers, we embarked on an unforgettable journey through the enchanting souks of Marrakech, the mesmerizing slot canyons of the Dades Valley, the awe-inspiring dunes of the Sahara, and the historic streets of Ait Ben Haddou. The trip seamlessly blended urban exploration with captivating outdoor adventures and was an itinerary truly enjoyed by all!
Our adventure kicked off in Marrakesh, where we delved into the busy streets of the medina, sought tranquility in peaceful gardens, and tried our hand at the exquisite art of Moroccan cooking—an absolute highlight of the trip!
The journey then led us towards the Sahara, with a stopover in the Dadès Valley. Nestled in a majestic riad, we were graciously invited to witness a local Moroccan wedding—an extraordinary and heartwarming experience. Mornings were spent trekking through the slot canyons of the Dades Valley, while afternoons were dedicated to leisurely poolside hangs – it was perfection!
Continuing our expedition, we reached the Sahara, where we rode camels at sunset, danced by the fire, and even discovered a desert pool to unwind by. Interacting with the Amaigzh community, enjoying their music, savoring their cuisine, and sharing laughter added a profound cultural dimension to our journey, as well as, spending time and sharing tea with a local nomadic family!
Our route back included a captivating stop in the ancient clay city of Ait Ben Haddou, famed for its appearances in Hollywood blockbusters and the iconic Game of Thrones series.
As our Moroccan adventure came full circle in Marrakesh, we concluded with a rejuvenating hammam experience— which was truly an experience!
For me, the true highlight of the trip was witnessing women get outside their comfort zones, friendships blossom and the emergence of new travel besties!

I traveled with Jacquie to Morocco and had an unforgettable action packed adventure. There was never a dull moment. She took the time to teach us photography/videography skills as well serve as our personal photographer! She has an eye for beautiful architecture and really makes sure everyone has an amazing experience. I am so glad that I made the decision to embark on this adventure to Morocco hosted by Journey by Jacq! Jacquie was a fantastic host and captured all of the most beautiful moments throughout the trip for us with her amazing photography skills. The itinerary was jam packed with the best sites, landmarks, and adventures that highlight Moroccan culture. We had a wonderful local tour guide, Fouad, that taught us so much about the history of Morocco and its people. From the bustling city of Marrakech to the serene Sahara desert, our group was left in awe. Our group bonded through our love of travel and I would definitely join Jacquie on future trips she plans to host. I definitely recommend joining any trip hosted by Journey by Jacq!!!

I joined Jacquie’s group trip to Morocco – a place that was never on my bucket list, and it did not disappoint. I had such an amazing experience! Jacquie is sweet, caring and kind-hearted. She always made sure the group was comfortable. She took us to places that had gorgeous scenery and taught us many tips and tricks of photography and videography using our smartphones. She also served as our personal photographer, capturing beautiful moments of everyone in the group. At the end of our trip Jacquie put together a photo gallery of all the pictures she took during the trip. Jacquie’s travel experience and attention to detail made this trip extraordinary and memorable. She finds the most magical places to bring the group. The experiences we were honored to take part in with the local nationals on the trip would never have been possible if I were to plan this trip on my own. We got a cooking lesson from a Moroccan chef, experienced a traditional Moroccan wedding celebration, had tea with a Nomad’s family in the Sahara, hiked the monkey fingers and then ate lunch at the home of a Moroccan family after the hike, and so much more! The trip was hands down the best planned trip I’ve ever been on. I would absolutely love to join Jacquie on all of her trips if I could. If you’re on the fence about booking a Journey with Jacq, just do it… I promise you will not regret it!!!! Thank you for hosting such awe-inspiring trip, Jacquie!
